    Description

    Photos 1-2 - Up for auction is a lot of five real photo postcards from Alaska
    Photos 3-4 - This undivided back card is the oldest of the lot. It was mailed from San Francisco to Japan on January 2, 1906, with a Seattle transit mark, two Japanese postal marks and Japanese writing on the back. There is a hand written caption that reads "An Alaska Sunset - 10 P.M."
    Photos 5-6 - This view is titled "Russian Church Sitka, Alaska" and was published by Winter & Pond, longtime postcard publishers in Juneau
    Photo 7 - This card shows the grave of Frank H. Reid, who was died after being shot at "the Shootout of Juneau Wharf," in Skagway, Alaska, on July 8, 1898. The card has the VELOX stamp box that was in use from 1907-1914
    Photo 8 - This view is titled "Majestic Mt. McKinley - Elev. 20,300 Ft." The AZO stamp box on this card was used from 1926 into the 1940's.
    Photo 9 - This view is captioned "The Punchbowl - Rudyard Bay, Alaska." Its Kodak stamp box was first used in 1950
    These cards are in the condition shown in the photos. They have minimal edge wear, light to moderate corner wear, and no tears, creases or other defects
